The maker says:
“This apron dress is made from old kimono worn by ordinary people, especially farmers. The cloth is about 100 years old. The brittle part are intentionally reinforced by sashiko stitching and patchwork to make make them visible.
the old Japanese people used to wear kimono for generations, they adjusted the length of it to fit different size.
I am remaking these clothes to bring this spirit to our modern lives.”
